Weather Situation
A general W to NW wind flow will persist over eastern Gulf waters during the
forecast period. A weak trough will move into the far southern Gulf early
Tuesday.

Southeast Gulf, South of Cape Keer-Weer:
Sunday until midnight:  Winds: W to NW 15 to 20 knots, shifting N to NW in the
evening. Seas: 1.7 metres. Swell: W to NW 1.5 metres. Isolated showers and
thunderstorms, mostly in the far east.
Monday:  Winds: N to NW 15 to 20 knots, reaching 20 to 25 knots over northern
waters in the morning. Winds decreasing NW to NE 10 to 15 knots south of
Kowanyama in the afternoon. Seas: 1.7 metres, decreasing to 1.2 metres south of
Kowanyama in the afternoon.  Swell: Less than 1.5 metres. Isolated showers and
thunderstorms, mostly in the far east.
Tuesday:  Winds: N to NW 10 to 15 knots reaching 15 to 20 knots over northern
waters in the early morning. Winds decreasing late morning to 10 to 15 knots,
and shifting S to SE from the south.
Wednesday:  Winds: Variable 5 to 10 knots, shifting SE to SW 10 to 15 knots
during the day.

Northeast Gulf, North of Cape Keer-Weer: 
Sunday until midnight:  Winds: W to NW 20 to 25 knots. Seas: 2.2 metres. Swell:
W to NW 1.5 to 2.0 metres. Isolated squally showers and thunderstorms.
Monday:  Winds: NW 20 to 25 knots, decreasing to 15 to 20 knots south of Weipa
during the afternoon. Seas: 2.2 metres, decreasing to 1.7 metres south of Weipa
in the afternoon. Swell: W to NW 1.5 to 2.0 metres. Isolated showers and
thunderstorms.
Tuesday:  Winds: W to NW 15 to 20 knots, decreasing to 10 to 15 knots south of
Weipa in the afternoon. 
Wednesday:  Winds: NW to SW 10 to 15 knots.
